I have my own unique way to calculate shipping on my website that works for my one horse rodeo, that uses a Base shipping fee that is usually $10.99, but currently $7.99. If needed, additional shipping markups on large and heavier items to cover shipping costs. It's weird, but it's the only way that works for me.***
